MOTHER'S LOVE

MOTHER'S LOVE is a solo journaling game in which you take on the role of a child living in an old house with a big, heavy secret. 

CW: This game seeks to explore the dynamic between a parent and a child in the context of domestic abuse (with the focus on intimate partner violence and self-defense). Child abuse is not an inherent aspect of the text and story, but it may be played that way. If any of these topics are distressing for you, please tread carefully.

This small project was inspired by the podcast "Женский срок", which sheds light on the reality of women's incarceration in Russia. There, many survivors of domestic violence that killed in self-defense are wrongfully charged with premeditated murder, often separated from their children.

The activists behind the podcast work with women prisoners and provide an essential lifeline to those that are left without their families' support, as well as essential education and advocacy at a time of intense political repression in Russia. Any amount raised through the game will be donated to their initiative.
